Education Support Services
Education Support Services (ESS) provides voluntary academic support for students and their families/caregivers. ESS provides academic support, mentorship, tutoring, GED preparation, and credit recovery to help students achieve their educational goals and become lifelong learners.
Services are currently provided virtually and in person, and are available in English, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish.

Each young person, especially youth of color, and their families within Hennepin County are thriving as lifelong learners empowered with tools and supports in the education system.
Our Mission
ESS addresses disparities in education systems by partnering with Hennepin County youth, families, and community professionals to support student engagement and growth. We advocate for families by:
- Listening to their needs
- Collaborating with students to identify and achieve goals
- Connecting them with resources
- Encouraging authentic and transformational relationships between youth and their communities
